Sleipner CO₂ Storage: Simulator-to-Seismic Example
Using the public Sleipner CO₂ Reference Dataset, this example demonstrates how SeiSyn can transform reservoir-simulation states into a synthetic seismic response and compare the modeled prediction with observed monitoring evidence.
The objective is not simply to reproduce an image, but to evaluate where the reservoir model explains the observed seismic response, and where mismatch may indicate that assumptions, model states or interpretation require further investigation.

What this demonstrates
- Converts simulator-derived reservoir states into seismic-domain predictions.
- Places synthetic and observed responses in the same spatial interpretation context.
- Supports direct visual and quantitative observed-vs-synthetic comparison.
- Helps identify areas of agreement, mismatch and model uncertainty.
- Creates a traceable bridge between reservoir engineering and geophysics.
Does the reservoir model explain what the seismic actually observes?
When modeled and observed responses diverge, the mismatch becomes evidence, not just a visualization difference.
